Police alert - vehicles broken into in Scothern
The Police have notifed the Council that 3 vehicles were broken into in the village recently. The vehicles targeted were
vans and some items were removed from them. Please report any suspicious activity to the Police and remain vigilant.
There have also been a number of burglaries and vehicle break-ins in nearby villages in recent days.
Vacancy for a Councillor
Due to the resignation of Melanie Tointon, there is now a vacancy on the Parish Council.

If you are interested in getting involved with the work that the PC undertakes on behalf of the parish then please contact the Clerk for more information or to apply for the position. Any existing councillor will also be happy to talk about the work of the council, if you wish to know more.
Broadband - Registration is important!
The County Council are finalising their plans to provide better broadband infrastructure throughout the county and now is the time
to ensure that Scothern is included by registering your interest. Please visit the OnLincolnshire registration page and add your name
to the list by registering. This will help LCC to determine which villages get a better broadband service and when - they will agreeing
contracts with suppliers very soon so please do this now!
WLDC - Garden Waste collection survey and site opening times
Following on from changes made last year, WLDC are now consulting with all residents to ask for their views on when to
stop and resume garden waste collections during the winter of 2012.

In addition, WLDC have published a leaflet showing the opening times and list of permitted items
for all the Domestic Waste sites in the district.

Village Festival / Jubilee Celebration - LATEST!
The Scothern Festival Committee has revealed more details on the timetable of exciting events as part of
the Scothern Festival.

Scothern bus service under threat
Whilst there is no specific threat, in the current climate of cutbacks it is clear that the bus service that Scothern enjoys must be considered to be
'at risk' and therefore all residents are encouraged to make use of the service whenever possible.
"Use it or lose it" should be our mantra!
Better Broadband for Scothern
Latest: AB Internet, a Lincoln-based company, are offering to supply high speed wireless broadband to
the village immediately. A new aeriel has been sited at the Mark Harris Commercials site and a
suitable signal can now be recieved with the first 'live' customer expected to be connected this week.
AB Interent are accepting requests for a service at 4, 10 or 50Mb - please see the AB Internet website
for more details and ask about their "Essential Broadband Plus" service when getting in touch.
Red Barn development
The Environment Agency are continuing to monitor the situation at Red Barn and have asked that any
