Church

St Germain's in Scothern is a Church of England church. There are regular services held each month - details can be found outside the church or in the Parish Magazine.

Who's who at St Germain's
  • Parish oversight: Revd R G Spaight
  • Churchwarden: Mr Nigel Carlyle
  • Parochial Church Council secretary: Mrs Elizabeth Selka

St Germain's is a member of a benefice (group of parishes) including churches in the nearby villages of Welton and Dunholme. A family service takes place each month in one of these churches. In addition, when there is a fifth Sunday in the month, a service is held in one of the three churches. There is also a timetable of church services on the benefice website.

St Germain's is a beautiful church, mentioned by Pevsner in his book on the architecture of Lincolnshire, with a fine traditional organ, stained glass windows and a six peal of bells which are rung before many services and at practices on Friday evenings.

St Germain's Parochial Church Council publishes the monthly Parish Magazine containing news and information for the whole community.
